The UofL School of Nursing presents Imelda Wright, PhD, RN, CNOR

Dr. Wright is an assistant professor at the University of Louisville School of Nursing. Her research focuses on the effects of perioperative nurse practice and the environment on patient safety in the operating room (OR). As a former perioperative nurse, Dr. Wright has first-hand experience with the high-risk nature of the OR department and the potential for adverse events.  Her goal is to mitigate perioperative patient risk by identifying elements that support and attenuate perioperative nurse safety practices. Her research was funded by AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurses) and the CCI Research Foundation. She has disseminated her findings in the AORN Journal, Advances in Nursing Science, and the Western Journal of Nursing Research. Dr. Wright is a 2019 graduate of the UofL PhD Program in Nursing.
